These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings for Shantalla, Cousane Gap, Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland. By making a booking through our website, by phone, by email, or through a third-party platform such as Booking.com or Airbnb, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Bookings

Bookings may be made:

- directly through the Shantalla website

- by email or phone

- through third-party booking platforms

A booking is only confirmed once you receive written confirmation from us and any required payment has been successfully processed.

Prices

All prices are shown in Euro (€) unless otherwise stated. Prices may vary depending on season, availability, minimum stay rules, promotions, or booking channel.

Payment

For direct bookings, payment is taken through a secure third-party payment processor. We do not store full card details on our own systems. Data controllers are expected to keep personal data secure, and payment information should be handled securely through appropriate providers. (Data Protection Commission)

Depending on the rate selected, payment may be:

- full payment at the time of booking, or

- a deposit at the time of booking, with the balance payable before arrival or on an agreed date

Non-Refundable Rate

Where you choose a Non-Refundable Rate:

- the full booking amount is charged at the time of booking

- the booking is non-refundable

- the booking cannot be cancelled for a refund

- the booking cannot be amended to alternative dates unless we agree otherwise in writing

By selecting a non-refundable rate, you accept that no refund will be due if you cancel or do not arrive.

Standard Cancellation Policy

For bookings that are not sold on a non-refundable basis:

- cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival will receive a full refund of monies paid

- cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival may be charged up to 100% of the booking total

- no-shows may be charged the full booking total

For accommodation booked for specific dates, cancellation rights depend on the contract terms and national contract law rather than a general EU cancellation right for online shopping. (European Commission)

Changes by the Guest

Requests to amend dates or guest numbers are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Rate changes may apply.

Changes or Cancellation by Us

If we need to cancel your booking or make a material change, we will offer, where appropriate:

- a refund, or

- alternative dates or accommodation if available.

Check-In and Check-Out

- Check-in: from 16:00

- Check-out: by 10:00

Early check-in or late check-out may be possible by prior agreement only.

Occupancy

The maximum occupancy of the property must not be exceeded unless agreed in writing in advance. Unauthorised additional guests may result in cancellation of the booking without refund.

Pets

Pets may be accepted only where this has been agreed in advance. Guests remain responsible for supervising pets, cleaning up after them, and paying for any damage or additional cleaning required.

Guest Conduct

Guests must:

- respect the property and its contents

- respect neighbours and the quiet rural setting

- avoid parties, excessive noise, or anti-social behaviour

- follow all house rules and safety instructions

We reserve the right to end a stay without refund where behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, or seriously disruptive.

Damage

Guests are responsible for any breakage, loss, or damage caused during their stay beyond normal wear and tear. We may charge the reasonable cost of repair, replacement, or additional cleaning.

Amenities and Safety

Use of the hot tub, sauna, outdoor stove, pizza oven, and other facilities is at the guest’s own risk. Guests must follow the instructions provided in the property booklet and on-site notices. Children must be supervised at all times.

Rural Setting

Shantalla is in a rural area. Guests must not enter neighbouring fields or farmland and must take care around animals, uneven ground, weather, and outdoor features.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, power outages, government restrictions, or other extraordinary events.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not responsible for:

- loss or theft of personal belongings

- interruptions outside our reasonable control

- personal injury or damage arising from misuse of the property or facilities

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
